The information center (Cañadón Pinturas Portal) usually attends from 09:00 to 19:00, but access to the trails is free during the hours of solar light.



The vegetation is typical of the Patagonian Steppe, adapted to extreme cold and constant wind.
Main species: Predominates the Coirón, the Neneo, and the Calafate. In the canyons there are more protected species like molles.
The park was created especially to protect the Hooded Grebe (Macá Tobiano), an endemic bird in critical danger of extinction.
Mammals: It is one of the best places to see large herds of guanacos, choiques, grey and colored foxes. Also there is presence of pumas.
Birds: Andean condors, mora eagles, and southern flamingos.
