Tree species: Magallanes Coigüe (Nothofagus betuloides), Guaitecas Cypress (highly valued and protected), and Canelo predominate.
Soil and scrubland: Great presence of peat bogs (formed by Sphagnum moss), Calafate shrubs, Chilco, and large extensions of ferns and lichens.
Macroalgae: In its cold waters are found the "kelp forests" (Macrocystis pyrifera), which are the lungs of the local marine ecosystem.
Marine Mammals: Abundance of sea lions (one-haired and two-haired), elephant seals, leopard seals, and humpback whales. It is common to see southern dolphins and toninas accompanying the vessels.
Birds: Black-browed albatross, giant petrels, imperial cormorants, and the majestic Andean condor that usually descends to the coasts.
Terrestrial: Protected populations of huemul (Andean deer), culpeo fox, and puma in the continental zones and large islands.
