Forests: Toward the east predominates the steppe, but toward the mountain range it becomes dense forest of Lenga, Ñire, Coigüe, and Pellín Oak.
Valdivian Jungle: In zones like Hua Hum, the humidity allows the growth of colihue cane and trees of great size.
Mammals: One can sight Pumas, Colored Foxes, Huemuls (in very remote zones), and the Monito del Monte. The red deer and the wild boar are very common introduced species.
Birds: The Andean Condor overflies the summits. In the forests inhabits the Giant Black Woodpecker and the Chucao.
