



The islets, with the exception of Lobos Island, have tall and dense shrub vegetation, where species such as jume (Suaeda divaricata), paws (Atriplex spp.), jarilla (Larrea spp.), yaoyín (Lycium chilense), bluewood (Cyclolepis genistoides) and Stipa tenuis grasslands predominate.
In the terrestrial sector, the lower stratum is composed of Patagonian flora, including genera such as Salix, Monttea, Condalia and Prosopidastrum, accompanied by sclerophilous grasses, adapted to long periods of drought and high temperatures.
The marine area is characterized by the presence of macroalgae from different groups: green algae (Chlorophyta), red algae (Rodophyta) and brown algae (Phaeophyta), which form a fundamental part of the coastal ecosystem.
The park protects a representative sample of the fauna of the Pampas steppe and mountain ranges.
The guanaco, the puma and the gray fox stand out. Among the birds you can see the moray eagle, the Peregrine falcon, the rye and different species of small birds.
They also inhabit vizcachas, armadillos and reptiles adapted to the arid climate.
