The vegetation is dominated by temperate rain forests, with species such as coihue, lenga, ñirre and Guaitecas cypress. In the lower and coastal areas, native thickets and ferns can be seen. The flora adapts to humid and cold conditions, with a great diversity of lichens and mosses. In addition, in higher and more exposed areas, species resistant to snow and wind grow, contributing to the park's biodiversity.
The park is a refuge for several native and protected species: the huemul (endangered Andean deer), the puma, the chilote fox, the guanaco and the introduced red deer. The Andean condor, the blackberry eagle, the steam duck, the cauquén and several species of ducks and gulls stand out in birds. Amphibians and reptiles typical of the southern zone are also found.
