The park is a natural mosaic where subantarctic forests predominate from Lengas, Ñires, and Coihues, mixed with peat bogs, lagoons and glacial watercourses. This diversity creates a unique ecosystem where vegetation adapts to low temperatures, strong winds and constant humidity. In spring and summer, the forests are covered with mosses, lichens and wild flowers that bring color and life to the austere landscape.
The Tierra del Fuego National Park is home to fauna typical of southern Patagonia, with guanacos that roam the steppes and red foxes that hide in the forests. The huillín live in rivers and lagoons, while the beaver, an introduced species, has altered part of the landscape. In the sky, the Andean condor and various birds of prey ride the winds, accompanied by a varied avifauna that gives life and color to the park's forests and wetlands.
