Flora

The Perito Moreno National Park is characterized by its extensive Patagonian steppe with shrubs such as caulk, neneo, black forest and coirón. In areas close to lagoons and watercourses, there are reeds and humid grasslands that allow the development of aquatic flora. Some areas have scattered forests of ñire and lenga at higher elevations. The region's wild flowers bloom between October and January, bringing colors to arid landscapes.

Fauna

The park is home to fauna typical of Southern Patagonia, including the guanaco, the red fox, the Patagonian fox and the choique. The lagoons and wetlands are home to black-necked swans, southern flamingos and wild ducks. The Andean condor is common in high and mountainous areas. Huemul, although rare, could be found in more inaccessible areas. The southern spring and summer are ideal for observing wild fauna, when animal activity is most intense.
