The park is characterized by its lush vegetation, typical of the Temperate Rain Forest.
Among the dominant species are the Magallanes coigüe, tepú, canelo, Guaitecas cypress and mañío. Constant humidity favors the development of a dense undergrowth composed of giant ferns, mosses, lichens and native bamboos (quila).
In sectors such as the Enchanted Forest, vegetation takes on an almost mystical appearance due to the density of the foliage and the permanent presence of fog.
The Queulat National Park is home to a remarkable biodiversity, typical of the temperate rainforest ecosystem.
In its trails and surroundings, it is possible to observe pudues, screeching foxes, and occasionally huemules, an endangered species.
Mammals also include the puma and the guiña (wild cat). As for birds, species such as the chucao, the huet-huet, the black carpenter, the kingfisher, and the majestic Andean condor, visible in high areas, stand out.
Black-necked swans, cormorants and other water birds can be seen in river and coastal areas.
